America’s war from Independence was truly important cause it made it possible for a new form of government called democracy to come into the world at a time when almost everyone was still being ruled by Kings and Queens it was between Britain and American Colonists it lasted for eight years by the time the war was over 27,000 Americans and 10,000 British soldiers died. in 1775 it grew worse when the king declared the colony of Massachusetts to be an open rebellion and commanded that Boston’s main patriot leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock be arrested for treason.

By time the battles of Lexington and Concord was over 250 British soldiers and 90 Americans had been killed or wounded. May, 1775 was when the second continental congress started. This would serve as an emergency congress through out the war. People made up a Continental Army and wanted George Washington to be the commander and chief.
